Secular vis-a-vis Sacred

What is secular?
What is sacred?
Is there a watertight compartmentalization?

Coconut tree is sacred;
so are sand, boat, sea, waves and sky

You are a spark of divine
The sacred is very much within you
"Do you not know that you are
God's temple and God's Spirit
dwells in you" says St. Paul

"Aham Brahmasmi"
says the Indian Wisdom

Let us live in the present
and experience the divine
every bit.

Let us build up the mansion of our life
on the bedrock of hesed and Shalom
That is steadfast love and
Well being resulting from
harmonious co-existence.

angel, here and now..!

people observed the good friday:
women, men, young couples, children
so on and so forth.

at the end of the event
people lined up to kiss the crucifix:
women, men, young couples, children
so on and so forth.

at last there come a mother and child,
five year old child, but differently talented.
people scared at mother and child:
women, men, young couples, children
so on and so forth.

the child kissed the crucifix
with much difficulty,
mother and child went away
as the people watched:
women, men, young couples, children
so on and so forth.

i am quite sure that
God loves the child
through the mother..!

vanity....!!

it seems to me vanity pervades,
it encroaches the whole,
it is everywhere
it is real.

you and me
after the never ending goals
satisfaction,
then what?

end is the same,
the same destiny
we share,
death.

meaning,
you and i
form we.

meaning evolves,
when you live for the other.

the teacher.....!!

the teacher tries his/her best
to make a concept clear
the child does enquire,
what is it?
how is it?
why is it so?
who told it?

with a smile on the face
with untiring efforts,
with all good intentions
the teacher answers.

just like a ladder,
which helps others to go high
the teacher endures the pain
while the child is transformed.

the ladder is in the same place
the sign board is in the same place
the facilitator is so.

let us bow our heads
in respect to our teachers
who felt with us
who valued us
who motivated us
who inspired us.

freedom and responsibility...!!

indeed the bird is free,

what is freedom...?

'i want to be free'

says everybody.

absolute freedom is a myth.

freedom always presupposes a certain amount of responsibility.

here the bird is free. but it has to go in search of food,

the bird has to find ways and means for security,

the birt goes in search of a friend...

all these we call the responsibility of free bird.

there is no absolute freedom.

i 'm a student and i want to be free,

well and good

i 'm a teacher and i want to be free,

well and good

i 'm a doctor and i want to be free,

well and good

i 'm a housewife and i want to be free,

well and good

i 'm a person and i want to be free,

ofcourse all of us are free

but it is a qualified freedom

otherwise it won't work
